'...a plot that cannot be foreseen but only relished'. - Roger Ebert

'This film debut by the theater writer and director Martin McDonagh is an endlessly surprising, very dark, human comedy, with a plot that cannot be foreseen but only relished. Every once in a while you find a film like this, that seems to happen as it goes along, driven by the peculiarities of the characters'

Quantum of Solace may be Best Film '08?

Quantum of Solace, the 22nd James Bond film, is going to be released in a fortnight in Australia and the hype surrounding its release is huge to whether it will live up to Casino Royale. But, will it be the best movie of '08? Better then Indiana Jones 4, the Bank Job, Taken, In Bruges and all those other films released this year. Daniel Craig is reprising his role as OO7, where he is expected to play a more brutal, battlescared Bond then ever before who is out on revenge.

So, think Quantum of Solace will live up to its predecessor, Casino Royale? Will OO7 beat all the other movies released this year to become BEST MOVIE OF '08?

What do you think is the Best Movie of '08?

In Bruges, obviously, I believe is the best movie released this year. Its a witty yet dark comedy with great acting in it as well. Although the Bank Job and Taken, which I saw earlier this year, are really good movies, In Bruges beats them for my No. 1 position as it is an always surprising film with endless twists and turns. Harry (Ralph Fiennes), I believe, makes this movie what it is through his eccentric, and at times psychotic, portrayal of a British gang boss. Although Quantum of Solace, being released shortly, may steal In Bruges position, it is still one great movie to watch.

So what do you guys think the best movie of '08 is?

An Intro to In Bruges!!!

G'Day everybody,

I've watched In Bruges recently and, as an avid all-round movie fan (Exception being to Horror), thought this could take the title of 2008 Movie of the Year, beating blockbuster hits like The Bank Job and Taken released earlier this year.

This dark British comedy, for those who haven't had the chance to see it, stars Colin Farrell (The Recruit, Miami Vice) as Ray, a young contract hitman who, on his first hit, accidentally murders a young boy in London. He is promptly sent to the alleged 'dream-like' town of Bruges in Belgium for an indefinite rest with respected senior hitman Ken, played by Brendan Gleeson (Braveheart, Micheal Collins), who was there when the hit-went-wrong. Their foulmouthed gangster boss in London, Harry, played by Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List, The English Patient), is the last addition to this hilarious, yet on occasion dark and sordid, comedy and, in my opinion, he sets the witty dry humour thats makes this movie.

So anyone wanting to comment on this movie, whether you loved every second or hated every moment, please do and, if you haven't seen this movie, WATCH IT NOW!!!
